The Generali Foundation was established in 1988 by the Generali Insurance Group Austria as a non-profit art association. Additionally to activities dedicated to exhibiting and mediating art, the Generali Foundation focuses the ongoing creation of a collection of international contemporary art as well as critical development and documentation of the holdings; conceptual tendencies of the 1960/1970s are at its core. Die Generali Foundation wurde 1988 als gemeinnütziger Kunstverein der Generali Gruppe Österreich gegründet. Die Ausstellungs- und Vermittlungstätigkeit, der Aufbau einer Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst internationalen Formats und die wissenschaftliche Bearbeitung und Dokumentation der Bestände stehen im Zentrum des Interesses der Generali Foundation; Kernpunkt sind konzeptuelle Tendenzen der 1960/1970er Jahre.
