This year’s curator’s project at the Academy is entitled »Which Life? Between Calling and Career.« Works by students will be highlighted against the background of the ongoing debate about the form and structure of their courses of study and with respect to later working-life realities. The results will be presented in an exhibition. The discussion panel will be debating the potentials of the courses of study offered by the Academy which – the fields of study being »Architecture,« »Visual Art,« »Stage Design,« »Conservation/Restoration,« and »Education in the Arts« – differ widely with regard to the actual careers they lead to, and will raise the question of what the challenges are that art production faces today.

Im diesjährigen Kuratorenprojekt der Akademie mit dem Titel »Welches Leben? Zwischen Beruf und Berufung« werden die Arbeiten der Studierenden vor dem Hintergrund der Debatte über die Form und Struktur ihrer Ausbildung und in Hinblick auf ihre spätere Arbeitsrealität beleuchtet. Die Ergebnisse werden in einer Ausstellung präsentiert. In der Podiumsdiskussion im Rahmen der VIENNA ART WEEK soll erörtert werden, welches Potential in den Ausbildungen der Akademie (Architektur, Bildende Kunst, Bühnengestaltung, Konservierung und Restaurierung, Künstlerisches Lehramt) liegt, die sich vom Berufsbild her beträchtlich unterscheiden, und vor welchen Herausforderungen die künstlerische Produktion heute steht.
