Situated in the historical center of Vienna, the Albertina houses masterworks of art in an imperial ambiance. It is the largest Habsburg residential palace in the city and an art museum of international standing whose name is synonymous for art lovers with one of the world’s most important collections of graphic art. The museum which also provides an accent to the surrounding cityscape with the flying roof designed by Hans Hollein in 2003 shows a variegated exhibition program featuring outstanding works from the 15th century up until the present.
In its permanent exhibition which was opened only in 2009 and whose heart is one of the most important European collections of international classical modernism – the Batliner Collection – the Albertina offers, under the title of »Masterworks of Modern Art,« a permanent survey, unique in Vienna and Austria, of the most exciting chapters of 130 years of art history, from French Impressionism to the most recent present.
For the VIENNA ART WEEK, the Albertina invites interested people to its Study Hall, where some of the art-historically most important and most valuable masterworks from the Graphic Art Collection will be presented for the occasion.

Die im historischen Herzen Wiens gelegene Albertina verbindet imperiales Flair mit Meisterwerken der Kunst. In ihrer erst 2009 eröffneten Schausammlung, deren Herzstück eine der bedeutendsten europäischen Sammlungen der internationalen klassischen Moderne – die Sammlung Batliner – ist, bietet die Albertina unter dem Titel »Meisterwerke der Moderne« permanent einen in Wien und Österreich einzigartigen Überblick über die spannendsten Kapitel aus 130 Jahren Kunstgeschichte, vom französischen Impressionismus bis in die jüngste Gegenwart.
Die Albertina lädt im Rahmen der VIENNA ART WEEK Interessierte in den Studiensaal ein, wo einige der kunsthistorisch bedeutendsten und wertvollsten Meisterwerke aus der Grafischen Sammlung aus diesem Anlass präsentiert werden..
