Curator Kathrin Pokorny-Nagel in conversation with Guest Curator and Art Historian Otmar Rychlik and Art Historian Julia Rüdiger
This discussion searches for art historical traces of Gustav Klimt’s studies at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts, a largely neglected period of his artistic career. Rudolf von Eitelberger and Ferdinand Laufberger, the two major figures of the period when Vienna’s Ringstraße was being developed, occupy center stage in this talk.

MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst
The MAK focuses on the role of applied art in the design of our living spaces. It operates at the interface of design, architecture and contemporary art in order to create new perspectives and explore boundary areas. The MAK would like to provide answers to the question as to how design can contribute to shaping the world and expanding possibilities for action and decision-making.
