The workshop deals with the act of scribbling as an extended form of writing and collective act of resistance. Together, statements, impulses, expressions will be translated into sign language; scribbling as a form of impulsive, bodily and performative action that involves the body and the entire space. Ideas and motifs borrowed from the milieu of demonstrations and protests in public space are taken up. Drawing as an act of social communication will be explored, making the workshop a manifesting gesture in the House of Losing Control.
HOUSE OF LOSING CONTROL
Ein abbruchreifes Wohnhaus mit angrenzendem Hof wird Ausstellungssort der VIENNA ART WEEK und neuartig definierter Kultur- und Grätzeltreff. Das Gebäude beim ehemaligen Nordwestbahnhof entsteht gemeinsam mit Independent Spaces im Bezirk, Grätzelinitiativen Künstler:innen und Performer:innen eine einzigartige kreative Experimentierfläche. Die ehemaligen Wohnungen und Werkstatthallen werden passend zum Motto LOSING CONTROL bespielt. Der thematische Bogen spannt sich von Kontrollverlust, Ekstase bis zu Zuständen des völligen Loslassens und der Introspektion. Das Haus wird zur lebendigen Bühne für eine offene und international vernetzte Kunstszene mit Fokus auf junge bildende Kunst, aber auch Performance und experimentellen Tanz und Musik.
