VIENNA ART WEEK 2026

OPEN CALL: INDEPENDENT SPACES & SPECIAL PROJECTS 2026

VIENNA ART WEEK
6 – 13 NOV 2026

NAVIGATING ANGST

Independent art spaces and projects are key program partners of VIENNA ART WEEK.

Once again, we invite “Independent Spaces & Special Projects” in Vienna to submit their program proposals for participation in VIENNA ART WEEK 2026 by May 10, 2026.

All proposals have to be related to this year’s VIENNA ART WEEK theme, “Navigating Angst.” Further information on the theme can be found in the curatorial text.

Events organized by all program partners are to be held between November 6 and 13, 2026.

This year’s expert jury – consisting of Fanny Hauser (Curator and Director, Kunsthalle Zürich), Ruba Katrib (Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, MoMA PS1, and Curator, Unlimited, Art Basel), Işın Önol (Director of Curatorial Research, School of Visual Arts, NYC), Bea Ortega Botas (Independent Curator and Co-Director, Juf, Madrid/NYC), Robert Punkenhofer (Artistic Director, VIENNA ART WEEK), and Anne Zühlke (Co-Curator, VIENNA ART WEEK, and Director and Curator, DOCK 20, Lustenau) – will select the most compelling program proposals, both in terms of content and concept, for participation in VIENNA ART WEEK.

Submissions are possible from now until May 10, 2026. All participants will be informed by mid-June whether their project has been selected to participate in this year’s festival program.
