Establishing Connection plays with visitors’ expectations and their demand for immediate access to information.

What happens outside formalised information systems – beyond algorithmic structures and digital control?

Which qualities of learning cannot be automated?

And how is our understanding of knowledge changing, how do our decisions and thinking habits arise?

Establishing Connection offers a contemporary reflection on digital dependency and the commercialisation of knowledge. In a world where artificial intelligence increasingly shapes our perceptions and decisions, the exhibition defends the indispensable human capacities for patience, intuition and meaning-making.

A former lecture hall – a place of knowledge transfer – falls into oblivion when completely covered and loses its original function. Three artistic positions – painting, expanded photography and object art – invite visitors to sit down on a comfortable chair, pause and engage with the work. A QR code is located nearby: visitors can use it to enter the process themselves and enhance the exhibition experience with a digital intervention.
