EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN/ENGLISH
As part of Vienna Art Week 2025, the group exhibition Embedded Knowledge: Learning from Within – Systems of Care and Resistance brings together artistic, theoretical, and pedagogical positions that understand knowledge as something entangled within relationships, practices, and materials.
The exhibition takes place in the Nuell building on Van-der-Nüll-Gasse – formerly an administrative site of MA 11, Vienna’s Office for Child and Youth Services, which is currently activated as a temporary space by artists and cultural practitioners.
The exhibition explores how systems of care and forms of resistance are inscribed into artistic strategies and unfold through spatial, performative, and material expressions. Installations, performances, and discursive formats transform the building into a site of collective knowledge production, offering visitors the possibility to experience responsibility, fragility, and community in new resonance.
Das Nuell
“The Nuell” is an artist-run studio house in Vienna’s 10th district, located across from the Favoriten police station. Once home to the city’s child and youth services (MA11), the building now hosts an open interim use. Artists and theorists work side by side, transforming the site into a temporary fabric of production, exchange, and shared imagination.
