Eröffnung: 'Sofia Goscinski – Desert Plants' in der MQ Art Box | Vienna Art Week 2026

In the MQ Art Box, Sofia Goscinski has arranged her ‘Desert Plants’ – an ensemble of 48 elegant, columnar sculptures cast in concrete and partly executed in bronze. Goscinski moulded the concrete around the approximately 250 cm long iron rods with a delicate touch, leaving the traces of her hands impressively in the material. This manual process reveals itself as a concentrated, meditative act that makes the artist’s creative power visible in her direct relationship with the material.

The MQ ART BOX in the Main Courtyard of MuseumsQuartier Wien features temporary installations by contemporary artists. The transparent art space interacts with the public realm and reflects the diversity of the MQ complex. The exhibition program offers insights into contemporary artistic practices and fields of discourse.
