EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN
The interdisciplinary series Future Talk: Climate X Change at KunstHausWien is dedicated to the demands of the Fridays for Future movement and questions relevant topics in connection with the climate crisis.
The British thought leader and utopian James Lovelock saw an end to the human-centered Anthropocene and prophesied a new geological epoch, the Novocene; an age of hyperintelligence that is no longer dominated by humans alone, but by artificial intelligence and advanced technology. But can such a change in perspective provide the solutions needed to save our planet?
Experts from the fields of science, art and activism discuss the possibilities and limits of artificial intelligence as a climate protection measure. How can the use of AI help us to tackle the climate crisis when its energy requirements are actively contributing to the climate crisis at the same time?
Panel discussion with:
- Elvira Lutter, program and research manager, Climate & Energy Fund
- Flavia Mazzanti & Manuel Bonell, media artists, Immerea
- David Schedl, head of the BAMBI project
- Florian Schlederer, climate author, physicist and philosopher
The Future Talk takes place as part of the exhibition “Anne Duk Hee Jordan. The End Is Where We Start From”.
An event in cooperation with the Kurier.

KunstHausWien
As the first “green museum,” KunstHausWien sees itself as a central location where issues relating to the environment and sustainability are addressed in the context of contemporary art. Based on the work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and his commitment to ecological and socio-political responsibility, the museum presents exhibitions of contemporary art and links them to an interdisciplinary, in-depth discourse program.
