The interdisciplinary working artist Josef Trattner has been working with the material foam for many years and realizes projects in public space using this material. An essential characteristic of his works is the overlapping of art-immanent aspects – the relationship of materiality, form and colour to interior and exterior space – with social issues. His ephemeral stagings in natural and urban spaces, which dissolve into nothing again after being changed by the public and weather influences, are always also social experimental arrangements that are inscribed with a self-reflexive and critical potential.
Exclusively for the Friedrich Kiesler Foundation a room sculpture with the dimensions 3 x 3 x 3 meters was realized, which can be used by the audience. Models, photos and a film documenting the creation of the sculpture will also be shown.

Österreichische Friedrich und Lillian Kiesler-Privatstiftung
The Austrian Frederick and Lillian Kiesler Private Foundation was established in 1997 with the acquisition of the estate of Frederick Kiesler (1890-1965) by the Republic of Austria and the City of Vienna with the help of numerous private donors. Its mission is to research the legacy of the Austro-American architect and to inscribe it in current architectural and artistic production.
