The exhibition at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz opens the winter program and presents works by Jonida Laçi and Luīze Nežberte, the recipients of the 2025 Kunsthalle Wien Prize.
Revised versions of their diploma projects are shown alongside new, site-specific works. Both artists work with sculpture, installation, video, and photography, yet pursue distinct approaches that are deliberately brought into dialogue within the exhibition.
Jonida Laçi explores perception, points of view, and modes of representation, as well as the social and economic inscriptions embedded in materials and images.
Luīze Nežberte engages with architecture, cultural memory, and historical narratives, translating these into sculptural installations using contemporary building materials.
Through the interplay of their works, spaces emerge that guide movement, sightlines, and perspectives, questioning how meaning, memory, and history are continually reconstructed through material and spatial processes of translation.
Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz
Kunsthalle Wien is the City of Vienna’s institution for international contemporary art and discourse. At its venues in Museumsquartier and on Karlsplatz, it presents exhibitions of contemporary art and contextualizes them in their social and political contexts.
