Niklas Lichti is an artist based in Vienna, co-publisher of the web magazine The Critical Ass and founder of the short-lived project space Geld in London.
Across a range of media including sculpture, drawings, text and video, Lichti employs notions of elliptic storytelling and montage, as well as an admiration for literature, stand-up comedy and economic theory to explore the plight of liberalism, social currencies, (artistic) self-representation and the politics of intimacy and mental health.

Galerie Layr
The gallery LAYR was founded as a continuation of the former gallery LayrWüstenhagen (2005-2011) 2011 by Emanuel Layr in Vienna, Austria. The gallery’s program focuses on the contextualization and confrontation of concepts and artistic manifestations of conceptual art with the relevant social, political and cultural issues of today. Starting from a city with a long history of oscillating between the hemispheres – East and West, North and South – the program strives for an interplay between artists of different generations and cultural or discursive backgrounds. The gallery exclusively represents the estate of the late Slovak neo-avant-gardist Stano Filko and the Belgian-American artist Cécile B. Evans. Since January 2017 it has been developing and operating a branch in Rome, Italy, which adds a further dimension of exchange, expansion and integration to its profile.
