For decades, choreographer and dancer Oleg Soulimenko has left his mark on the Viennese performance scene. His impressive works often oscillate between dream and ritual; they often draw inspiration from Eastern worlds of thoughts and philosophies. In his latest piece Immortality Day, Soulimenko, together with the artists Mimu Merz, Yoh Morishita, Gustavo Petek and Julia Zastavaden, takes Russian cosmism as a starting point and continues to spin motifs from this philosophical current. Various “performative islands” are created in the spacious industrial hall of brut nordwest. Over the course of two days, the audience can embark on a utopian journey here and is invited to enter into cosmic and transhumanist connections – with their own selves, an imagined community, nature, technology and the cosmos.
