SALON°FUTUR 2025 – “FROM BURNOUT TO THE SIESTA”

The discourse program of the RCSA* at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and of the FUTURAMA°LAB** works as an interdisciplinary platform to discuss current issues focusing on sustainability across the fields of art, science and education.

At the center are the influence of habits, ideologies, and dogmas on future-related topics; the challenges of the 21st century amid globalization, technological change, and democracy; as well as the search for new sustainable ways of existence.

“From Burnout to Siesta” explores our stress-driven labour-culture that is also present in the art world. It questions whether sustainable social change is possible under constant pressure of time and performance. The aim is to find ways to cope with overload and to first open up spaces where alternative formats of processing can emerge.
