The 21st edition of VIENNA ART WEEK was dedicated to the theme “Learning Systems” — exploring learning not as mere knowledge acquisition, but as a dynamic process of understanding, unlearning, and rethinking.
Art served as a medium to investigate how knowledge is created, transmitted, and transformed within history, nature, technology, and society. The festival invited reflection on the systems that shape our understanding of the world — from ecological cycles and artificial intelligence to oral traditions and digital archives.
Since learning is never neutral but always influenced by power, participation, and ideology, the festival also critically examined who has access to knowledge, who controls it, and how knowledge is preserved or erased.
