22. VIENNA ART WEEK
6-13 NOV 2026
At the heart of the 22nd VIENNA ART WEEK is an experience that is omnipresent yet difficult to put into words: angst. Not as a state of emergency, but as the background noise of the present—ecological, political, technological and physical.
Under the theme NAVIGATING ANGST, the 22nd VIENNA ART WEEK explores this multifaceted emotion and asks: How do artists translate anxiety into images, spaces, and actions? How does angst become artistic material, a starting point for critique, or even an impulse for utopias? And how can art help us navigate turbulent times?
NAVIGATING ANGST is not intended as a ready-made answer, but as an invitation to engage with the contradictions of the present. Through art, the VIENNA ART WEEK seeks to explore ways of dealing with angst, embracing complexity, and remaining capable of taking action.
Over 100 events throughout the city invite you to experience the diversity of Vienna as a city of art—with free admission. Discover and discuss contemporary art in Vienna.
All information about the program will be available here starting October 1, 2026.
