EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN – GUIDED TOUR FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Feeling models and different surfaces, receiving background information and experiencing the atmosphere acoustically – this is how the guided tour through our show collection for blind and visually impaired people is designed. The round shapes of the gasometers remind us that gas storage was already an issue 130 years ago. And while we are illustrating the dimensions of the Karl-Marx Hof with the help of a tactile model, we listen to the descriptions of a contemporary witness and resident. Other projects such as the Danube Island, the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York and the Islamic cemetery in Altach can be experienced acoustically through the listening stations.
